Robert’s\015\012family is located primarily in Canada (Nova Scotia & Toronto).  Pam’s family, except for her\015\012charming daughter, is located along the east coast.  While most of our wonderful friends are\015\012in Texas, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for family to attend the\015\012festivities.

Both\015\012sides of Robert’s family emigrated from Scotland to Nova Scotia on The\015\012Hector (the original, of course!). \015\012And everyone knows of Pam’s long time love affair with\015\012sailboats.  It just seemed\015\012appropriate.

There\015\012are two options.  You can fly into Hallifax, Nova Scotia, or you can take a ferry from Bar\015\012Harbor, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia  http://www.catferry.com/

Nova Scotia is a peninsula\015\012running southwest to northeast.  Hallifax is located just about in the middle of the\015\012southeast coast.  Pictou is located more toward the north shore.  It takes about 2 hours to drive from Hallifax to Pictou.  It takes 5 to 6 hours to drive from\015\012Yarmouth on the southwest shore to Pictou.

    \015\012What\015\012else is there to do in Nova Scotia?

Nova\015\012Scotia is a beautiful place to vacation. \015\012Prince Edward Island & Cape Breton are both\015\012within easy distances.  PEI is known\015\012as the home to Anne of Green Gables. \015\012Cape Breton is heavily Scottish with one of the only Gaelic colleges in\015\012North America, as well as a whiskey distillery.  You may want to see the world famous tidal\015\012bore in Truro.

No,\015\012but there will be many men in kilts at the wedding….including\015\012Robert!  Feel free to “go\015\012native” if you like.

    \015\012Will\015\012there be a reception?

Yes.  We are planning a casual drinks &\015\012appetizers reception with music for dancing.  We hope to have it on the beach, if at\015\012all possible.  This is still in the\015\012planning stage; more details will follow.

    \015\012Is\015\012there any significance to the date (June 26, 2010)?

It\015\012was as close as we could get to both a full moon & the    summer solstice.  Being in the northern latitudes, it will\015\012stay light well into the late evening to facilitate the celebration.
